Sven set from @Agito
the mask part update is here
(some previous posts in dev forum that i forget to move to here... )
it might have conflict with god form because it should be (maybe) blue in normal form...
but valve released vintage set that is red one...hmm
so here is the first impression of the concept, i will refine more on game model mock up there.
just can you give me a flat picture of default sven sword so i can see the handle shape without guessing.
the concept colour can be change into blue, i just put red colour temporary.
and the sword concept is the below part will have a tiny blade for uniqueness, i think animation will not affect for that
also we still cannot add particle effect right?
or else i wanted to add a fire ring at sven back when he use god strength.
quick mockup for the blade idea.
or you prefer lower blade is half length of the top one. ( i just design blade got 2 parts, then longer is A+B, shorter is B alone)
i roughly check animation got a bit not-big-problem clipping in few frames but rest of it is majority no problem
some feed back from reza :
1) that's right, so maybe you can include flame elements in the armor so they won't change color and they are not really Red but kind of orange
2) I prefer the bottom to be shorter than the top. I think it makes more sense too.
Also we can continue the rest of this thread in the forums. The idea is solid enough already
today WIP progress for full view of the set idea:
1) any SUGGESTION for the chest armor's belt design? you can notice i draw different pattern for experiment. (also i tried to use repetitive texture pattern for belt)
2) Blade design is not final, i will remake a Complete a new one. because myself also not satisfy with the blade...
anyway this is the original inspiration for the blade, Lego Bionicle 2001 Tahu... (fire or some shit) (and i got cheated from Lego with limited posture joint... that time this CG graphic lied on me)
I'd say the left chest piece but with bigger joints.
so far so good, not much comment since you are doing what you are good at after all - robot staffs!
and for once its not looking like an anime flick. I like it.
so here is the full body update, you can start sculpt body parts if you want to, while I'm thinking how to design blade and tryhard to insert some idea for particle effects
you can see top row i was try to see the RED goes well with god strength form or not, and normal form should be using Yellow + Blue for that or maintain the earliest version, Red only...
the belt slot, front and back of the loin cloth armor actually same, just the rear part is shorter (shaved) a part there.
I like everything but the shoes. I dot ike the shoes at ALL. they look very ridiculous. Other wise i like everything.
Another issue is the shape of the shoulder guard. its lard so it feels like its not on his shoulder. im not sure how will that look when he is holding a sword or weapon. could look bad. are there any other sets that hav a huge shoulder like yours?
this is consider large... maybe i draw a bit large... can be resize tho when in sculpting.
shoe part can remove... no biggie.
very early stage of sword design.
the sword is very interesting. i take it it wont need new animations right?
a little clipping but acceptable level i guess, you can use an unused effigy block to test the animation... just try imagine an extended blade at bottom...
Will it clip with this new immortal?
no. immortal is replace on arm slot btw
or ask 3d modeller do a dummy to test
As for the weapon, the handle doesn't really match the silhouette. it's like a water pipe just attached to it. I would go for something more organic and a flaming shaped silhouette in general and make sure the handle is a part of the weapon not something attached to it later.
BTW, where is back piece?
upper body armor is Back slot...
Arm slot is both left and right hand...
okay i'm done for this hmmmm....
shouldn't that be the shoulder? let's add some spikes like pudge and veng as back
